a practice in minimalism
Finding myself more at home during the early days of COVID shutdown, I decided to explore silhouette look. Placing the strobe behind me, I used a softbox large enough to cover my head and shoulder.
The Challenge
This was a solo project and the challenge I encountered was tuning the focus and depth of field just right. I’d have to take several exposures, review them, adjust, and try again. After a while, things got a little tiresome.
Thoughts
Overall, I accomplished what I had envisioned for this shoot, and am pleased with the look and feel. However, I thinking a little away from the source of light would have wrapped the light more around the outlines. During setup, I’d use a static object to ensure front-to-back tack sharpness.
